Weekend Away: Lithgow and Blue Mountains (Part 2)

Here is part 2 of my trip to Lithgow and the Blue Mountains. It was a few weeks ago now. See part 1 here.

We stayed at the Zig Zag hotel in Lithgow which I’d say is the best place to stay in the town. The staff were very friendly and attentive at at both reception and in the restaurant. The receptionist took an interest in my husband’s photography and was very helpful by suggesting what to do in the area. The restaurant was great with a small town and cosy feel. The food was excellent with very fast service. The room was comfortable, somewhat basic, but completely appropriate for a quick one night stay. I loved being in such a different environment from Sydney. I need to visit more small towns.

Once again it was incredibly foggy which ruined a lot of the views especially at the Three Sisters and the Hydro Majestic. Regardless, I had an enjoyable couple of days. I definitely need to find the time for more short trips.

  1. Really just an awesome view, Imogen, even with the fog. The fog actually gives the pics a very ethereal feel to them:) And love what you were wearing of course.:)

  2. What a pretty place to visit, Imogen. I really like the fog pictures, they looks mysterious and lovely. Look at this scenery, and those cliffs! The tree picture is cool. What a pleasant short trip you and your husband took. It sounds just like something I would love to take right now.

  4. I was a bit absent due to an extreme tiredness, but I feel better now, so I am visiting blogger-friends! Wow, I loved the Blue Mountains, to see your trip here – but you are right, so foggy! Nevertheless, very beautiful, ethereal, and you look so beautiful! Loved your skirt and flats! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
